Ypane Badlands

Carved by the elements over time, the Ypane Badlands continue to morph before our eyes. Badlands are natural rock formations characterized by layered sediments, sharp peaks and sloping cliffs. After driving down a dirt road, craggy brown cliffs jut out from between lush vegetation to welcome you into another world and invite you to explore. Wander the sandy labyrinths of caves and snaking networks of streams that make up this natural wonder. Until recently, the Ypane Badlands hid away undiscovered. Today they are eroding at an accelerated rate because of the effects of pollution. While the Ministry of Public Works has made efforts to clean and protect the badlands and surrounding streams, it’s important to appreciate the Ypane Badlands in all their glory.
