Salvador Dali was born in Figueres and chose to build a museum here on the site of a former municipal theater. Dali designed the museum himself, turning the building into a massive surrealist sculpture, and is even buried in a crypt beneath the theater’s stage. Visitors are immediately greeted by the giant eggs and geodesic dome atop the building, and once inside, can explore optical illusion rooms, surrealist sculptures, and a range of jewelry and paintings by Dali. As the second most visited museum in Spain, this site can get crowded and opening hours vary seasonally (though it's always closed on Mondays), so it’s best to book tickets in advance: https://www.salvador-dali.org/en/visit/dali-theatre-museum/#opening-hours
