Saint-Emilion is a medieval hilltop village where wine, history, and legend are woven into every stone. Begin at the Monolithic Church, carved from solid rock, then climb the bell tower for sweeping views of vineyards and rooftops. Wander cobbled lanes past wine shops and hidden courtyards toward the King’s Keep. Opt for a catacombs tour or enjoy sparkling wine in the ivy-covered Cloitre des Cordeliers. Tastings abound - from grand chateaux to tucked-away cellars. End with lunch at L’Envers du Decor or grab traditional macarons to go before your driver takes you to the next stop.

The Monolithic Church, carved entirely from solid rock, is the village's most remarkable underground site. You can also explore historic catacombs, visit wine cellars carved into limestone cliffs, and tour the ivy-covered Cloitre des Cordeliers where sparkling wine is aged in ancient underground chambers.
St. Emilion is famous for its traditional macarons, distinctly different from Parisian versions and available at local bakeries. The village also offers regional cheeses, duck confit, and other southwest French specialties that pair beautifully with local wines.
