Delphi is about 115 miles (185 km) northwest of Piraeus, a drive of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours through central Greece. The approach to Delphi winds up the slopes of Mount Parnassus, with dramatic views of olive groves and deep gorges that make the journey itself part of the experience.
Yes. Psani and Gribovo beaches in Nafpaktos are pleasant and low-key, with clear water, basic amenities, and lifeguard coverage in season. They are a short walk from the harbor area, making them easy to fit in if time allows and the weather is right. The beaches are best enjoyed in spring or summer.

Delphi is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Greek world, and the journey itself passes through landscapes that shaped classical civilization. Nafpaktos adds a layer of Byzantine and Venetian history on top, offering a genuinely rich and layered day for history-minded travelers.
The site is open daily from 8:00 to 20:00 in summer and closes earlier at 15:30 in winter. A combined ticket covering both the archaeological site and the museum is available; current pricing and ticketing can be found at the official Greek heritage ticket portal at hhticket.gr. Tickets are not included in the transfer price.
The Temple of Apollo is the centerpiece, set dramatically into the steep hillside with sweeping valley views. The ancient theater seated around 5,000 spectators and remains impressively intact. The Delphi Archaeological Museum, located just below the main site, holds some of ancient Greece's finest sculptures and artifacts, including the famous bronze Charioteer of Delphi.
Nafpaktos is a small coastal town on the northern shore of the Gulf of Corinth, about an hour's drive west of Delphi. Known historically as Lepanto, it was the site of a major 16th-century naval battle. Today it is celebrated for its beautifully preserved Venetian harbor fortress, its fortified old port lined with waterfront cafes, and its relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Delphi was considered the center of the world in ancient Greek belief. It was the seat of the Oracle of Apollo, whose cryptic prophecies were consulted by city-states, kings, and individuals across the ancient Mediterranean for centuries. The site dates to at least the 8th century BC and includes the Temple of Apollo, a well-preserved ancient theater, a stadium, and a world-class archaeological museum.
Spring and early autumn are ideal, with comfortable temperatures and manageable crowds at Delphi. Summer is warm, and the site is fully open, but midday heat can be intense at the exposed hillside ruins, so an early start is recommended. Winter visits are possible but come with shorter site hours and cooler conditions on Mount Parnassus.
