This engineering marvel connects the Gulf of Corinth and the Saronic Gulf, and was planned since the 7th century BC, but was only completed in the 19th century. 
 
Main attractions
• Incredible views and photo opportunities from the bridge on the Loutraki side of the canal
• Boat tours through the narrow limestone walls, offering a unique perspective of the canal’s massive scale
• Bungee jumping available for thrill seekers 
Take note 
• Specific boat tours and bungee jumping through companies such as Zulu Bungy must be booked in advance 






Explore a fortress, stroll the historic Old Town, or swim and sunbathe at the beach in Nafplio. 
Main attractions
• The imposing 18th-century Palamidi Fortress, where a trek up offering panoramic views across the city and water below
• Mysterious Bourtzi Castle, standing watch on an islet across the harbor (accessible by boat only!)
• Arvanitia Beach, which you can walk to just below the Palamidi Fortress 
Take note
• Entry to the fortress costs 20 EUR, and the hours vary seasonally (typically 8:30 to 15:30 in the winter and 8:00 to 20:00 in the summer)
• Palamidi Fortress is accessible either by climbing the 999 steps to the top, or by driving to the upper entrance
