杜杭寺的起源可以追溯到10世纪末，当时一位僧侣来这里向人们教授佛教，在黎太皇统治结束时。经过漫长的历史，这座寺庙多次修复、重建和扩建，最近一次是在1917年，当时图书馆和花园被增加。寺庙内有七个供奉佛陀的房间，内装满了许多19世纪的雕像和艺术品。
