Kaidala Shri Chennakeshava Swami Gudi

This temple emerges not only as a destination for art enthusiasts but also a place where familial bonds and artistic legacies are eternally preserved.

About

Kaidaala Shri Chennakeshava Swami Gudi, nestled in the serene village of Kaidala near Tumkur, Karnataka, beckons with a tale of art, sacrifice, and familial bonds. Born in Kridapura, now Kaidala, the legendary sculptor Jakanacharya left his home in pursuit of artistic excellence, inadvertently forsaking his family. His son, Dankanacharya, following in his footsteps, sought to reunite with his elusive father. Despite its unassuming appearance, Kaidala's Channakeshava temple, crafted by the skilled hands of Jakanacharya and Dankanacharya, is steeped in history. The main idol, Lord Channakeshava, stands 6 feet tall, adorned with intricate ornaments, carved from black stone. The temple, designed in Dravidian style, boasts a grand entrance, and the Mahadwara, crowned by a massive Gopura, captivates visitors.
