New Zealand
This art space showcases New Zealand’s breathtaking natural landscapes and glacial ice as seen by the renowned photographer.
In 2001, photographer Petr Hlavacek visited New Zealand for the first time, and was so taken by the country’s natural beauty that he permanently relocated from his home in the Czech Republic. Captivated by glacial ice and dramatic landscapes, Petr’s work has been published by both domestic and international magazines including National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, and Outside Magazine. To share his stunning images, he opened this purpose-built gallery, set on a pleasant 5.5 acres, just a stone’s throw from the Franz Josef Glacier. Here, you’ll find 20 of his finest works, mounted under museum glass, as well as Petr’s photography books where you can admire more of his work and New Zealand. Petr is always on hand and happy to talk about his work, and even arranges workshops and outings for aspiring photographers!
