Monkey Park
This non-profit shares the plight of endangered species with visitors while rehabilitating sick and injured animals.
About
The Monkey Park non-profit is housed in a former zoo that they repurposed for a noble goal: to provide refuge to monkeys and other endangered species. Here, a variety of monkey species, as well as macaws, ocelots, and plenty of other animals that have been rescued, orphaned, or abandoned are provided a safe space to live. The park works to rehabilitate animals for release into the wild whenever possible, and has breeding programs to bolster populations. By showing visitors the very real impact people are having on the natural world, the Monkey Park hopes to impact enough people to help make a difference before itâs too late. Reservations must be made in advance at https://apamiwildlife.org/. Please allow a minimum of 45 minutes for this stop.
