Slobozia National Museum of Agriculture
Learn about the development of Romanian farm-life, from the beginnings through the evolution of tractors and machinery.
About
Opened to the public in 1996, the Slobozia National Museum of Agriculture looks to exhibit the history of agriculture, covering both industry to anthropology, specific to Romania. One the museum grounds, the âPioanaâ Wooden Church, built in 1737, is a historical monument that services the âBuna vestireâ parish. The PerieČi Model farm is an agricultural monument â it was Eastern Europeâs largest producer of vegetable and flower seeds in the 20th century. The museumâs extensive collection of over 8,000 pieces attempts to show every facet of rural life, from the carts, carriages, and sleighs used for transportation, to everyday tools, utensils and furnishings, to the agricultural and industrial tools used in Romania. The museum even has a shop offering rural crafts, to bring a taste of the rustic life home with you.
