Baradla cave

The huge Baradla Cave stretches over the border into Slovakia and was declared a national monument in 1925. The cave is so large that it even has a chamber called the Concert Hall where concerts are held and music played during tours. Not only is the cave huge, but is also a kaleidoscope of colors — the ceiling is exotic shades of red and green while the stalactites remain blackened by the torches of the early explorers. There are many eerie limestone rock formations that surround the walls. Visitors in tour groups carry their own lighting all the way through to the exit at the Red Lake, enhancing the incredible atmosphere. Spend a few moments standing and gazing in the Hall of Giants to create an unforgettable experience before retracing the steps of Stone Age man who once inhabited this vast complex of tunnels, in what is one of the most astounding caves in the world.
