Garden of Morning Calm

A stunning arboretum situated in the Gapyeong district is packed with thousands of flower species, and features an array of festivals throughout the year.

About

The Garden of Morning Calm derives its name from Korea’s moniker as the “country of morning calm”, and walking through its grounds, you’ll certainly be overwhelmed by a feeling of serenity. Wander through the Garden of Plants, with 1,000 flower species from all over Korea, before heading to the Sukgeun Garden, shaped like the Korean peninsula, and a popular filming location for numerous Korean TV series and dramas. The Millennium Juniper, estimated to be around 1,000 years old, is a prominent representative tree of this garden. The Moonlight Garden stands out with its bright and delicate ambiance, especially enchanting in the spring with blooming tulips. The Garden of Morning Calm hosts a variety of festivals throughout the year, from the Spring Flower Festival with tulips, rhododendrons, and daffodils, to the Hydrangea Exhibition and Iris Festival in June, and the breathtaking fall foliage of red maple leaves and yellow ginkgo trees in October and November. Even in winter, the garden transforms into a mesmerizing light-filled wonderland. The garden is open all year round from 8:30AM to 7PM. An adult ticket is 11,000 WON.
