1. Ride the train for 30 minutes from the airport to Roma Termini (Rome’s central train station).

   2. From Salerno, ride the ferry for 35 minutes to Positano.

The entire hike is 5.8 miles (9 km) and has been rated “moderately difficult” by hiking guides. While this entire hike might not be suitable for all ages and skill levels, there are shorter sections you can try with trailheads in Positano.

Fill your plate in Positano

Positano’s cuisine heavily features fresh seafood right from its shores. Pull up a chair at one of its many restaurants with outdoor patios for some spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams) and pesce all’acqua pazza (fish cooked in broth).

The Positano sun literally grows on trees! Limoncello is a sweet liqueur made from lemons, the region’s most popular fruit. It is incredibly popular and the main symbol of Positano’s gastronomy. Lemoncello is served in a shot glass, but don’t shoot it just yet! This drink is meant to be sipped and savored.

If you’re still craving lemons, head to a bakery for Delizia al Limone. This rich pastry is a delicacy that is difficult to find outside of this region of Italy. It has a tart and sweet flavor profile.
