There are a few bus options for those traveling from Porto to Evora on a budget. The most popular bus line offering trips between the two cities is Flixbus, but some prefer RenEX. Regardless of your choice, you should expect ticket prices to vary and cost between $25 and $41.

In addition, it is worth noting that depending on the time you choose, you could encounter stops and transfers with Flixbus, often requiring at least one transfer. Overall, a bus trip will take between 5.5 to 8 hours, so keep this in mind, as it might not be the best way to travel if you only want to visit Evora on a day trip.

From Porto to Evora by train

If you want to take a train from Porto to Evora, you must book a ticket with Comboios De Portugal, one of the only train lines offering trips between these destinations. This train line offers trips every hour and covers the distance to Evora in about five and a half hours. In addition, ticket prices vary, but you can budget between $30 and $44. You should also expect to encounter at least one transfer though, typically in Novo.

Although the temple is largely believed to be dedicated to Diana, it was, in fact, built for Emperor Augustus. When you visit, get an up-close and personal look so you don't miss the intricate column designs and solid stone base.

Évora Museum

A visit to the Evora Museum is a great way to spend time with friends or family you're traveling with. But even if you plan on visiting Evora solo, it's still a place to stop and see, especially if you're interested in learning more about the city's history.

When visiting, expect to see thousands of artifacts and several artwork masterpieces adorning the walls, like the Museu de Evora, which paints a detailed image of the city's local culture through the centuries it's seen.

These months comprise the spring and summer months when the city is most pleasant weather-wise. It's usually best to visit in the spring and fall. If you visit in the middle of summer, you'll see more crowds, higher prices, and might see some bad weather and heavy rains alongside heatwaves.

Winter is not ideal, but it's a good time for budget travelers who are more interested in indoor activities than outdoor ones. So, decide what type of traveler you are and take it from there.
