Nervi
From the colorful jumble of historic houses in this ancient fishing village, visitors can enjoy a stroll along a stunning cliff-top promenade.
Om
Settled by the ancient Celts, Nervi was a small fishing village that became a favourite retreat for Genoese nobility thanks to its stunning views and consistently comfortable climate. In the 20th century, this pleasant climate made the village a popular escape for intellectuals and the wealthy from around Europe. Today, the colorful fishing village is a year-round retreat, filled with quaint alleys for visitors to explore, and dominated by the 16th century Gropallo Tower, which would burn hay from its roof to signal danger, earning it the nickname the âTower of Hayâ. However, of the townâs many charms, the 2 kilometer promenade that works its way along the seaside cliffs is the pride of the town, offering stupendous views and a breath of the famous fresh air. Nerviâs luscious park is the largest in the Genoa region, and home to over 100 species of plants, including ancient trees from Brasil, Chile, and China.
