Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden
The centerpiece of this serene garden is a dramatic waterfall, which is home to a pair of Black Eagles.
Om
The Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden was officially founded in 1982, but the areaâs natural beauty had made it a popular destination since the 1800s. Spread out over 300 hectares, the garden protects the indigenous âRocky Highveld Grasslandâ, which blends grassland, savanna, and dense bush. Along with over 600 plant species, an abundance of animals call the gardens home, including over 220 recorded bird species. Of these, the most famous are the pair of breeding Verreauxâs (Black) Eagles, who have made their nest next to the gardenâs beautiful, 70 meter waterfall.
