Taking a bus from Amalfi to Siena might be the most cost-effective travel solution, with ticket prices starting at $5, but it can also be the most irksome. You will need to get to the Atrani bus station in Maiori from Amalfi to take a bus to Salerno.

From Salerno, you will need to take a train to the Salerno Irno station and, from there, a bus to Siena. Unfortunately, this tiresome trip can take up to 10 hours, making it a poor choice if you value your time.

From Amalfi to Siena by train

Unfortunately, taking a train to get to Siena isn’t much easier than taking a bus, which involves multiple stops and transportation changes.

For example, if you are in Amalfi, you must take a taxi to Via Nocera, which is often incredibly expensive. After taking a taxi to the train station, you will take a train to Florence. From Florence, you will need to transfer to another train, which will take you to Siena. The entire trip is cumbersome and cannot take over ten hours, which is longer than the bus!

From Amalfi to Siena by private car service

To enjoy the best view in Siena, you must explore Mangia Tower. It soars above the other buildings in the city and is the tallest building in the medieval city. But be warned that you’ll have to earn the view, with hundreds of steps to the top, so be prepared for a mini workout.

Siena Civic Museum

Museum-lovers will want to make a stop at the Siena Civic Museum, which is the town's most important museum. The Siena Civic Museum is housed in the Palazzo Pubblico and has a significant collection of sculptures, frescoes, and paintings from the Sienese school. The most impressive 14th-century fresco “The Allegory of Good and Bad Government," was completed by the famed Ambrogio Lorenzetti and can be seen in this museum.
