LÀr dig mer om resor frÄn Gimhae International Airport
The airport is roughly 15 km (9 miles) from central Busan, and a private transfer typically takes around 25 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. This is one of the most convenient airport-to-city journeys in South Korea. A private transfer with Daytrip means you go directly to your destination without navigating the subway system or waiting for shared shuttles with luggage in tow.
For Busan, a full day â roughly 8 to 10 hours â is enough to cover three or four highlights comfortably without feeling rushed. You can experience the waterfront at Haeundae, walk the colorful alleys of Gamcheon, and still catch sunset from one of the city's many hilltop viewpoints. For Gyeongju, plan for a similar full day given the number of spread-out heritage sites. Trying to combine both cities in a single day is not recommended; each deserves its own visit.
Busan is genuinely one of Korea's most rewarding cities for a day trip. Unlike Seoul, which sprawls across a vast area, Busan's best experiences are concentrated along its coastline and hills, making it practical to see a meaningful cross-section in a single day. The city has a character all its own â grittier, more maritime, and arguably more relaxed than the capital. Even a first-time visitor can leave with a strong sense of the city rather than feeling they only scratched the surface.
Busan is the natural first choice, a coastal city packed with distinct neighborhoods, seafood markets, and cultural landmarks. Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi Fish Market, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, and Haeundae Beach are among the most visited spots. Gyeongju, the ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom and often called "the museum without walls," is another excellent option roughly 80 km (50 miles) northeast, filled with royal tombs, temples, and UNESCO-listed sites. Jinhae is also nearby and renowned for its springtime cherry blossoms.
Gimhae International Airport is South Korea's second-busiest airport, serving the greater Busan metropolitan area. It sits in Gimhae city, approximately 15 km (9 miles) west of Busan's city center. Despite the Gimhae name, it functions as the main gateway to Busan and is also within easy reach of several other cities in South Korea's southeast, including Changwon and Gyeongju.
Busan's public transit is reliable within the city, but getting from the airport to multiple sightseeing stops â especially with luggage â involves transfers, stairs, and time. With a Daytrip private transfer, your driver picks you up directly at the terminal and can stop at sightseeing points along the route to your final destination. You arrive rested, oriented, and without the friction of navigating a new city in an unfamiliar language. For travelers with tight schedules or simply wanting to make every hour count, this makes a tangible difference.
