FrÄgor och svar om att resa frÄn Monterosso al Mare till Florence

How long is the train ride from Monterosso to Florence?
The train ride via Trenitalia takes about 3 hours to get to Florence and requires at least one transfer, usually in Pisa. There are no direct trains at this time. Book your tickets ahead, and make sure to leave enough time to have a peaceful transfer to the next train. If you travel by train, leave a few hours of layover so you can have a quick look around Pisa!
Can I use credit cards in Italy?
Yes and no! Credit cards are widely accepted at major stores and along busy tourist areas, but you will come across smaller restaurants and stores that only take cash. Have some euros on you just in case. Only carry as much as you need for the day, as pickpocketing does occur sometimes.
Where should I stop between Cinque Terre and Florence?
Pisa, Lucca, Portovenere, and Montecatini Alto are all popular day trips between Cinque Terre and Florence. Central Italy is full of unique and cultured places, and each of these cities has a different appeal and reason to visit. Visit a vineyard, buy homemade olive oils, or see one of the many UNESCO World Heritage sites in between these popular destinations.
How many nights should I stay in Florence?
Staying for at least 2 to 3 nights is recommended so you can see all the sights of Florence at a leisurely pace. This allows time to visit major sites like the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Accademia Gallery, as well as to take a day trip to nearby areas such as Fiesole or the Chianti wine region.
Is the FirenzeCard worth it?
Yes, the FirenzeCard is a great deal if you plan to visit several museums in Florence. It is €85 for a 72-hour pass and includes entry to 60 of Florence’s museums. Although, be aware that reservations are required at a few of them regardless of whether you'll use the FirenzeCard or not. Book your tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment!
Is Italy safe for travelers?
Yes, Italy is very safe for foreigners. The most common crime is pickpocketing, so make sure your bag’s zippers are shut, only carry the cash you will need for the day, and keep your phone out of your back pocket.
