Both villages are compact and best explored on foot. Setenil's main attractions are concentrated along its cave-streets, while Zahara involves a short but steep climb to reach the castle viewpoint. Streets are cobbled and uneven, with stairs in places, so comfortable walking shoes are essential. Plan for around two hours in each village to take in the main sights at a relaxed pace.
