Walk in the footsteps of Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall
Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a medieval village wrapped in stone walls. Its cobbled streets are lined with galleries, shops, and small cafes. For decades, it drew artists like Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall, many of whom stayed at the Colombe d’Or, a hotel where paintings were once traded for meals. The Fondation Maeght, just outside the village, adds a modern touch with sculpture gardens and works by major 20th-century names. From the ramparts, the views sweep across the hills and toward the sea. The mix of history, art, and atmosphere makes Saint-Paul one of the most famous villages in Provence.
