Biarritz is generally a very safe destination. As with any popular beach city, keep an eye on your belongings in crowded areas and on the beach. The city has a relaxed atmosphere and is well-suited for solo travelers, couples, and families.

Must-sees include the Grande Plage beach, the iconic Rocher de la Vierge rock formation, the old Port des Pecheurs fishing harbor, and the striking Art Deco casino. The city is also a short drive from the charming Spanish border town of San Sebastian.
