The upper town of Bonifacio features steep, narrow, and uneven cobblestone streets that present real challenges for wheelchairs and strollers. The marina area and some waterfront paths are more accessible. If mobility is a concern, it is worth planning ahead and focusing on flatter sections of the town or exploring the natural surroundings by vehicle.

Corsican cuisine is rich and distinctive. Look out for charcuterie made from free-range Corsican pigs, including coppa and lonzu. Brocciu, a fresh ewe's milk cheese, appears in many dishes. Try fiadone, a Corsican cheesecake, for dessert. Local wines and chestnut-based products are also regional staples worth sampling at restaurants and markets in and around Bonifacio.
