Modern technology is used to highlight the natural beauty of this massive cave system.
Near Han-sur-Lesse, the Lesse river plunges into the Belvaux abyss sinkhole known, and travels over a kilometer underground before reaching the Grottes de Han, and the surface again. Though locals have known about the caves for centuries, as evidenced by the Bronze Age artefacts found inside, modern exploration until 1771. A guided tour brings visitors into the caves on a vintage streetcar, where over the next hour and a half you’ll be brought through the rooms halls and caverns, the largest of which is 127 metres tall, treated to a light and sound show, and shown the caves unique acoustic properties with a simulated canon shot before exiting on a boat.
