The Imperial Abbey of Corvey is one of the oldest monuments of monastic architecture in Central Europe and one of the few surviving architectural monuments of Charlemagne. Particularly impressive is the large private library with over 74,000 books, which attracts visitors from across the world. Wandering around the abbey by yourself or taking one of the guided tours will reward you with a valuable insight into the history of the monastery, which coupled with the spiritual areas and elegance of the complex, make for a rewarding and splendid visitor experience.
