This magnificent sanctuary on the slopes of Mount Parnassus is estimated to have been built in 8th century BC. For centuries, Delphi was considered to be the center of the world by Greeks, and as such, was showered with attention. The site is home to truly spectacular Temple of Apollo, a theatre, treasuries, and many other monuments. Delphi occupies a special place in the Greek mythology as the site used to be a home to Pythia, the high priestess also known as the Oracle of Delphi. Pythia could channel prophecies from the God of Sun, Apollo.
