Fontein Cave

Nestled within Aruba’s picturesque Arikok National Park is one of the island’s notable windward-facing caves, forming a trio of renowned natural formations alongside the Guadirikiri and Huliba caves.

About

Sheltering nocturnal bats within its depths and showcasing intricate rock formations, Fontein Cave beckons visitors with its captivating beauty. While the entire expanse of this limestone cave isn’t accessible, its entrance hall offers a glimpse into its wonders. Stalactites, stalagmites, and more natural wonders adorn the space, notable for the well-preserved drawings by the Caquetio people that date back a millennium. These evocative drawings provide a direct link to Aruba's ancient past, depicting the stories and rituals of its native inhabitants. Park rangers offer guided tours of the cave, providing insights into its geological features and the cultural legacy of the indigenous people. Adjacent to the cave, a natural freshwater pond offers visitors a chance to immerse in the island's diverse offerings. Here, fish pedicures are an unusual and delightful experience. Entry to Arikok National Park is US$15, with opening hours between 8AM to 4PM daily.
