Laguna Blanca

Fed from underground with no rivers or streams flowing into it, Laguna Blanca is the only lake in the country. This, coupled with the natural filtering from its chalky sands makes for clear water that's clean enough to drink. An ecosystem unique in Paraguay, the surrounding area is rich in biodiversity, and is one of the most studied places in the country for ornithologists, being home to 283 species of bird. People likewise flock to the lake to enjoy a little slice of the Caribbean, relax under the thatched umbrellas, or swim in the blue waters.
