One of the most famous examples of the westward migration of the USA, the Oregon Trail was a treacherous and complicated. It was a difficult and trying journey, and many lost their lives in search of new start in the West. Today, the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Centre has built a four mile trail that showcases this difficult and important period of history. You are able to hike and take in the scenery of the mountains, all while learning about this emigrant path. There are also picnic areas to lounge in while taking in this beautiful part of Oregon. What a better way to learn history than interpreting it?
