Hike throughout a lush forested mountainscape blanketed in clouds for globally renowned views and a variety of wildlife.
The sprawling expanse of this Forest park covers over 1,400 hectares, though the main points of interest are centered around a mountaintop reaching about 2,200 meters above sea level. The area is shrouded in a near-constant mist, which combined with the temperate climate creates the perfect atmosphere for a lush forest. The most famous sights in this landscape include unique natural phenomena such as the sea of clouds, a swathe of clouds that often forms around mid-elevation and when seen from a mountaintop appears to blanket the earth below. The mountains are also famous internationally for their consistent afterglow, a kind of scenic “golden hour” that occurs when sunlight at dusk or dawn blankets the face of a mountain. The forest itself is popular among hikers eager to trek among the abundance of wildlife, and there are also old-fashioned steam railways running through the base of the park.
