In the lush cloud forest of La Paz department lies the magnificent Santa Rosita Waterfall. As you walk the trail, keep an eye out for colorful birds like toucans and trogons in the treetops overhead. Emerging from the forest, you are awestruck by the thundering roar of the 75-meter tall waterfall. Iridescent mists hang in the air, refreshing you from the hike on a warm day. Swimming is permitted in the crystal clear pools at the base of the falls. Cool off from the jungle heat in the refreshingly crisp water. Be sure to watch your footing on the slick stones, keeping safely back from the foaming edge. After spending time taking in the natural beauty, hike back down to enjoy a picnic lunch with views of the surrounding mountains.
