Stare into the “Eye of the Earth” at this mythical spring
The source of the Cetina River is a karst spring that forms the top opening of a vast underwater network of caves. The “Eye of the Earth,” as locals call it, is located in Milasevo, a short distance from the village of Cetina. Fresh, ice cold water flows up from the caves and forms the beginning of the Cetina River, which is the source of drinking water for thousands of people. The depth of the karst spring is still unknown. Divers have investigated the depth of the underwater cave system, but only reached 508 feet (115 meters) before turning back. Even without a drone camera, the view of the surrounding natural landscape from the ground is awe-inspiring. The karst spring is also located in the shadow of the Ascension of the Lord Orthodox Church, which is well-worth a look inside.
