Vrelo River

The Vrelo River is exactly 365 meters long, hence its fitting nickname Godina, or “the Year River.” Follow the Godina River from its bubbly origin to the finale: a waterfall that tips over into the Drina River.

About

The Vrelo, or Godina, River originates from a powerful karst spring in Perućac, Serbia, and flows into the Drina River on its way to the Black Sea. Despite its short length, the Godina River has everything you could ever need in a river: a water-powered mill, two villages on its banks, two bridges, and a 32-foot (10 m) tall waterfall. A smaller tributary feeds into the Godina River from its left bank and a small pond has formed on its right bank. A restaurant sits above the final waterfall where the Vrelo tumbles into the Drina, the perfect place to stop for lunch and enjoy the view! With shallow banks and plenty of space to splash, feel free to dip your feet into the cool water and splash around. The water is crystal-clear and a popular home for trout, so see how many you can spot!
