Latvia
Latvia’s only backlot gives visitors a behind-the-scenes look at Latvian history through recreations of early 1900s Riga.
Built in 2004 for the movie 'Defenders of Riga', Cinevilla was purpose-built to depict Riga as it was during the freedom battles of 1919. Used for other period pieces, visitors can explore on their own or take a tour of Latvia’s only backlot to see the church, bridges, market squares, and cobbled streets of Riga while learning about the filmmaking process, right down to the special effects. Afterwards, visitors can enjoy a meal at the movie-themed restaurant.
