Each spring, Emmeloord, the bustling heart of Noordoostpolder, transforms into the epicenter of Dutch tulip mania. The village hosts the renowned Tulip Festival (annually around 13 April–5 May). With 2,000 hectares of blooms, this Flevoland region boasts the largest contiguous tulip fields in the Netherlands, painting the flat polder landscape in surreal stripes of red, yellow, and purple. Visitors can cycle, drive, or walk the festival’s curated route, stopping to pick their own tulips or explore charming private farm gardens. See the colorful magic without the crowds of better-known bulb destinations. Don’t forget your camera—this is Holland’s most photogenic secret!
