Stretching for nearly 25,000 hectares, Bucharest’s third largest wetlands is the nation’s second most biodiverse. Home to many species on the European Red List, the park is particularly popular among birdwatchers for the 141 varieties that can be found here, of which 71 are protected worldwide. The park offers visitors a range of options for how to explore the wetland. Many enjoy taking a quiet walk along the many paths, but the park also rents bikes. Perhaps the best way to enjoy the park’s beauty is to take the ferry out for an hour of exploration, which surrounds you with the delta’s diverse biosystem. The ferry can be reserved for groups, or it’s possible to join one - just ask for information at reception.
