Southampton throughout history

The estuary Southampton sits on has been inhabited since the Stone Age due to its fertile soil and access to the ocean, according to archeological finds. South Western Railway has direct trains from London Waterloo Station to Southampton Central that depart around every 30 minutes during the high season of summer.
