About Passau
After your scenic drive from Prague to Passau, you'll arrive in one of Bavaria's charming cities. It's the region's 17th most populous urban space, home to 52,000 locals spread along the Danube, Inn, and Ilz Rivers.
### Early Passau
The city borders the Austrian frontier and is surrounded by the Landkreis Mountains, which are key reasons why the Roman Empire established a town here in 2 BC. The mountainous terrain provided excellent geological barriers against invading tribes. But its location, where the three rivers meet, meant it flourished as a trading hub when boats became Europe's primary travel method in the Middle Ages.
A fire engulfed the city in the 17th century. But locals quickly rebuilt the city in its distinctive baroque style. The area became the focal point for weapons manufacturing for Germany during World War II and fortunately escaped much damage from Allied air raids.
### Modern Passau
Today, Passau is a unique city where pastel-colored buildings inspire you to relax and live a slower life. Sipping coffee in the abundance of traditional coffee houses littering the streets is the ideal way to blend in with the locals. Due to the 11,000 students at Passau University, growing tourism in infrastructure, and year-round festivities, the town is far from dull and offers visitors a generous welcome.

“Everything was great: Ondrej picked us up on time, allowed us to spend as little/much time at each of the stops, answered all our questions, gave us some facts along the way and most importantly got us to our final destination safely. Very professional and would highly recommend Ondrej and use Daytrip again.”

“Six of us traveled all day from Prague to Passau, enjoying stops along the way. Cesky Krumlov is a hidden jewel! Day trip was simple to book and our driver David was terrific. Highly recommend.”
“We used mydaytrips.com to get from Passau Germany to Prague. The website is so well designed, informative and easy to use. You input your pick up point and destination and it immediately prices it out (adding passengers and luggage). It then loads stopovers you may add based on your itinerary. We added a stopover in Cesky Krumlov (CK). You can decide how long you want your stopover to be. The price increases accordingly. The planning could not have been easier! Payment is in full at booking but it has a 48 hour free cancelation (I believe it's 48hrs). A few days before the trip we received an email with the drivers full name, contact info and make, model, color and license plate number of his car ( a nice BMW). Our driver Petr, arrived 15 minutes early and waited patiently right in front of our viking ship as we were checking out. He helped with our luggage and offered us bottle water and some beer! The drive was lovely and we enjoyed our 3 hour stopover in CK which is referred to as a “fairytale” village and I can see why! 3 hours was plenty of time to first grab a coffee, then walk a bit, visit the castle grounds and finish up with lunch. We arrived at our designated pick up point 15 minutes early and Petr was ready and waiting. He drove us right to the front door of our hotel in Prague. We talked the entire day. Such a lovely gentleman, very professional and friendly! I highly recommend this service (they offer services everywhere) and if coming or going to the Czech Republic I would see if you can specifically request Petr.”
“We enjoyed excellent service with Daytrip. Our driver was Michal. He was punctual, polite, knowledgeable and a careful driver. He made our trip very enjoyable.”
“A group of 6 persons used Daytrip to take us from Passau (after our boat bike tour) to Prague. The transfer included 2 attractions. We chose Cesky Krumlov and Hluboka. The van was roomy, clean and was able to accommodate the luggage for 6 passengers. The driver was polite, drove safely and offered to guide us through Cesky Krumlov. WOW, it was a hidden gem! We spent more than the allotted 2 hours as we decided to have lunch at the attraction. While this meant we didn't see Hluboka, it was worth the delay as the restaurant that the driver suggested was amazing. The driver was very flexible and only wanted us to have a good experience. Wonderful way to get from one location to another with door to door service.”
“we needed a transfer from our hotel in Prague to a cruise leaving Passau later in the day. we booked DAYTRIP and they were awesome! the driver was early, car was clean and off we went.
our initial booking was to Nuremberg and at the last minute had to make a change; DayTrip was very accommodating. we also had 2 stops scheduled and were able to make both stops and still make the ship on time.
i will definitely use DAYTRIP again!”
“Booked Daytrip foe our party of 4 adults from Prague to Passau. At booking the website offered side trips , so we added a 2 hour visite to UNESCO Censky Krumlof.
Our designated driver Tomas picked us up promptly, had water ready for us, was very helpful , dropped us off for our castle visit and picked us up to continue on to our destination.
Service was excellent, felt safe ,we certainly will use this service again while in Europe .”
“This was a great way to travel from Passau to Prague. We got off our cruise and Shpendi was waiting for us so we were not at the mercy of train schedules and connections and could sightsee along the way. Shpendi was great company and took us sightseeing along the way -- finding us a restaurant that we were interested in and helping us connect with our AirB&B in Prague. Looking back, this was one of our favorite parts of the trip.”
“Needing to transfer from Prague to Passau to embark on our Viking Cruise, we chose My Day Trip over the hassle of train travel involving a transfer and lugging our baggage from place to place. We had good communication from the company which included a photo of the driver and the make of his car.
Arriving on time, our Czech driver Matej M. was courteous, friendly and spoke excellent English. We scheduled one stop at Pisek to enjoy a small historic town and have lunch. Matej walked around the town with us, which included the oldest surviving bridge in the country, and assisted us in buying lunch we could eat along the river bank. We enjoyed lively conversation as we drove in comfort through the countryside and arrived on time at the dock, just a few feel from the ship.
I highly recommend this service and our driver Matej in particular.”
“We booked Daytrip for transportation from Passau, Germany to Prague with a sightseeing stop in Pisek along the way. Before the trip started we had some questions about the pickup. Our email was answered almost immediately and in a most helpful manner. Our driver picked us up right on time in a very nice, clean, and comfortable car. He was very friendly, informative, and, most importantly, an excellent driver. The door to door service was outstanding. We will certainly book Daytrip again.”
