A brief history of Cusco
From the 13th to 16th century, located in the Andes Mountains of Peru, Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire, known as Tawantinsuyu. In 1780, an uprising against the conquistadors was led by TĂșpac Amaru II to protect the indigenous people who suffered through the colonization period. Although TĂșpac Amaru II was captured by the Spanish, it was an important step towards Latin Americaâs freedom. A century later, in 1821, Peru eventually gained its independence.

âVi visste inte vad vi skulle förvĂ€nta oss av denna resa och bokade frĂ„n Australien. Vi letade frĂ„n början efter ett enkelt sĂ€tt att resa frĂ„n Granada till Malaga.
