A small working farm in the Ourika Valley, Le Paradis du Safran grows, harvests, and processes one of the world's most prized spices and welcomes visitors into every stage of the process.

A living garden dedicated to the medicinal and aromatic plants of the Atlas Mountains, the Organic Aromatic Garden of Ourika is a fragrant, beautifully laid-out introduction to Berber botanical knowledge.
What to see
- Admire beds of lavender, rosemary, thyme, wormwood, rose geranium, and dozens of other plants, all labeled with their Berber names and traditional uses
- Watch a demonstration area showing how plants are harvested, dried, and distilled into essential oils

At the point where the paved road ends and the High Atlas begins, Setti Fadma is the most dramatically situated village in the Ourika Valley, a cluster of terraced houses built against the cliff face above a rushing river.
What to see
- Stroll through the village itself, with its Berber architecture of flat-roofed stone houses, terrace gardens, and the narrow footbridge across the Ourika river
- Explore the lower waterfall, a short walk upstream, surrounded by walnut trees and wild flowers; six more falls are accessible on a longer mountain hike above
- Visit the weekly Berber market (Mondays), when farmers and traders from the surrounding valleys fill the riverside with produce, spices, and livestock
