Lednice Château rises from its UNESCO-listed landscape of lakes, canals, and English parkland as the most extravagantly beautiful neo-Gothic residence in Moravia — a 19th-century Liechtenstein fantasy set in 200 hectares of designed landscape.
What to see
- The château's interior — neo-Gothic state rooms of exceptional decorative quality, including the carved wooden staircase and the Hall of Ancestors
- The Minaret — a 60-meter Islamic minaret rising incongruously from the parkland, built by the Liechtenstein family as a garden folly in 1802
- The greenhouse (skleník) — an early 19th-century cast-iron and glass palm house, one of the oldest in Central Europe
What to eat
- Moravské koláče (sweet pastries filled with poppy seeds or plum jam) from the bakeries in the nearby village
Take note
- The château interior is accessible by guided tour only; the parkland can be explored freely on foot or by bike

Mikulov perches on a limestone ridge above the Moravian-Austrian wine country as the most dramatically sited small town in southern Moravia — its castle, synagogue quarter, and terraced vineyards forming one of the most rewarding compact historic centers in the Czech Republic.
What to see
- Mikulov Castle — a baroque palace rebuilt after WWII destruction, housing the Regional Museum with exhibits on wine culture, archaeology, and the town's Jewish heritage
- The Holy Hill (Svatý kopeček) — a baroque pilgrimage complex of chapels and Calvary stations climbing the limestone ridge above the town
- The Jewish Quarter — Mikulov was home to the largest Jewish community in Moravia; the baroque synagogue and adjacent cemetery survive
What to eat
- Pálava wine — the local Palava grape variety produces aromatic white wines of distinctive character; the wine bars on the main square offer tastings of the best producers from the surrounding hills
