Then there's ALSA, which offers the trip three times daily with tickets costing between $45 and $75. Another option is Rede Expressos, which offers trips three times daily with tickets only costing $18 to $28. Rede Expressos is the cheapest bus option and is a good choice for those on a budget.
### From Lagos to Seville by train
If you want to take the train from Lagos to Seville, you should note that only one train line runs this route and doesn't go the entire way. You must take a bus transfer with ALSA to get the rest of the way.
The Comboios De Portugal has a train leaving the Lagos station every three hours, and the trip takes only twenty minutes to get to the Portimao station, with a ticket price between $5 and $7. From Portimao, there is one transfer and a one-and-a-half-hour stopover before you take the bus to Seville. The bus trip takes about four hours and 15 minutes with ALSA, and ticket prices are between $36 and $58.
Although you will get to see some of the beautiful scenery along the way, you won't get to stopover and visit any local attractions, and it can be a hassle to transfer from the train to the bus. So keep this in mind before booking a train ride.
### From Lagos to Seville by private car

And that doesn't count the time needed for check-in, security, getting your luggage, or getting from Seville Airport to your accommodation.
As we said, it's long and tedious.

### The Seville Cathedral

But, before you get ahead of yourself, when is the best time to visit when traveling from Lagos to Seville?
Seville's inland location means it gets hot in the summer. We're talking an average of 96° F in July and August. Because of the heat, in our opinion, the best time to visit is during the late fall or early spring. Spring is the most festive time, but you should note that it might be pricey, and there could be many crowds, so look at other times of the year if you're on a budget.
Most buses get to Seville from Lagos in about four and a half to five and a half hours. However, how long the bus ride is from Lagos to Seville will depend on numerous factors. For example, the bus line you choose, the route it takes, whether or not there is any traffic, and if there are any stops involved will all play a role in the length of your trip.
The train doesn't go all the way from Lagos to Seville. You will need to take a 20-minute train ride to Portimao station and, from there, take the bus to Seville. The bus ride takes about four and a half hours, so the entirety of the trip will take about five hours if there is no lengthy stopover.
You should plan at least 2-3 full days in Seville so that you have time to visit the major landmarks, see a flamenco show or two, and sample the many varieties of tapas.
