"Setting out early in the morning for our car ride from Brussels to Zermatt. Arranged the car journey via DayTrip. Our group of 6 was picked up at our Brussels hotel at 7:30am and reach Tasch train station at 5:51pm. Philippe Boche was our designated driver for the day. The car has to stop at Tasch Railway station as Zermatt is car-free town and has a restricted vehicular access policy. So we have to take a train from Tasch to Zermatt (short trip). The car journey was a comfortable one with 2 hourly stops along the way to stretch our legs and hygiene breaks. As it was a long journey, we did not do any short side trips but the beautiful scenery along the trip more than make up for it. Definitely more comfortable and less stressful then jumping onto 6 train transfers.
The surprise of the day. Even our driver Philippe was caught unaware as the route we took was the first time he took the mountain route to Tasch. We drove onto a vehicle train with the whole car getting onto the train with us inside and off we go through a very long tunnel and emerged on the other side of the mountain range. It was surreal.
Finally arrived at Zermatt at around 6:30pm (we started off from Brussels at 7:30am). It is a 11 hour journey traversing from Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany (Basel) and finally Switzerland. Thanks Philippe and Daytrip for getting us safety to our destination.
