Ecuador
Ecuador’s hub city connects the north to the south, and the Andes to the Pacific, is a gastronomic wonderland.
An important trade and agricultural centre, Quevedo is the hub of Ecuador with every major highway, including the Pan-American, passing through it. The city has a strong artistic and cultural feel to it, and this is evident in Central Park, a blend of modern architectural styles and natural features. By the river the attractive Quevedo Boardwalk leads to the Quevedo Bridge, which is impressively lit-up in blue at night, and the Crystal Palace where exhibitions are shown year round. The 8 hectare Quevedo Zoo is highly regarded and a great source of natural, cultural, and educational recreation. Quevedo’s biggest pull is it’s amazing food culture. The city is blessed with an abundance of top-class restaurants offering quality dining experiences. Although international cuisine is readily available, trying some of the local meal choices is a must - liver steak, fish buns, bocaschico stew and encebollado - a fish stew served with banana chips are all menu items that should be experienced.
