This ancient burial mound was recognized by UNESCO as a monument from a culture of peace.
Discovered in 1909, this ancient tomb was excavated almost immediately. A long, stone corridor leads to the 1.8 meter high burial chamber. While the local peasants had already gone through much of the tomb, excavations in the chamber uncovered the remains of about ten people, and a wide range of funeral objects, including ceramic vases, necklace beads and pendants, fragments of stone blades from around 1000 BC, and a bronze medal. At the center of the dromos, the remains of a circular fireplace were found, which was likely used for ritual purposes.
