You’ve probably never seen a tree quite like the Ombu, so why not acquaint yourself in the Ombu Forest! Situated near the Parque Nacional Cabo Polonio, this reserve of Ombu trees spans 20 kilometers. You’ll notice immediately what makes Ombu trees unique - their wood is soft enough to be cut with a knife. Not only, but their roots and canopy can spread to 12 or even 15 meters in diameter; almost as much as their height! There's debate among scientists if they're even a tree because of their oddity. Indigenous only to the South American lowlands, this unusual gathering of this unusual tree makes for a memorably peaceful place to connect with nature.
