About Verona
Located in northeastern Italy, Verona has a population of just 200,000. It doesn’t even rank in the top 10 most populated cities in Italy, yet it remains one of the country's most visited destinations. The city’s significance dates back to the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages when it served as a crucial transportation hub. In more recent history, Verona gained fame as the setting for the heart-wrenching love story of Romeo and Juliet. As you can tell, Verona is a magical town, steeped in both history and culture.

Throughout history, Verona has faced and overcome numerous challenges. The city fell under French rule during the Napoleonic Wars, followed by Austrian control from 1815 to 1866. Despite these hardships, these periods brought significant changes to Verona in different areas such as architecture, culture, education, economics, and governance.
