The ruins of this unusual medieval castle are a unique sight with stupendous views.
Built in the 14th century, Trosky Castle’s strategic position atop to rocky towers made it an imposing fortification that weathered the Hussite Wars. It was finally conquered during the 30 Years’ War, and burned down by the Imperial Army. Though the castle was left in ruin, visitors have been coming to admire its unique silhouette since 1681. Visitors can now take a tour to learn the castle’s rich history, and scale the two towers, affectionately named Old Woman and Young Girl, for stupendous panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
