This unique museum is a recreation of a 19th century village in the Croatian Zagorje region. It provides a glimpse into peasant life and village traditions. The permanent exhibition was created to preserve the material and heritage of Hrvatsko Zagorje.
Kumrovec Staro Selo Museum is located in the Sutla River Valley, in the village of Kumrovec. The open-air museum and ethno-park is made up of 40 restored buildings with traditional architecture (made from pressed earth and wood). The museum depicts authentic Zagorje villages, customs, and ways of life. Kumrovec is also the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito, former president of Yugoslavia. His house has been made into a museum using original furniture, letters, and memorabilia.
