Experience southern history first hand at this living museum.
The story of Historic Brattonsville dates back to 1776 when Colonel William Bratton built a simple, single-room log cabin. Over the years, the Bratton family expanded on this, and added over 30 other buildings, through the antebellum era. Today, the plantation is a living history museum where you can see how people lived in the 18th and 19th centuries, as costumed interpreters showcase historical farming techniques and day-to-day activities. You can also walk the Huck’s Defeat Battlefield Trail to learn about one of the most important Revolutionary War battles in the Carolinas.
